A truly unique yarn! To make Caracol, Malabrigo starts with a bulky thick-and-thin single plied yarn made of delightfully soft superwash merino wool,  then it's criss-crossed with a binder thread (either black or white.) Then the yarn is dyed one of the signature Malabrigo kettle-dyed colorways, and: poof! Caracol knits up into a cozy, fluffy fabric with a ton of texture and visual interest. Simple stitch patterns really let it sing!

Great for: Warm winter accessories, big cozy afghans, and stockinette that's far from boring

  • 100% Superwash Merino
  • 150 grams, 90 yards (80 meters)

Be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project since each bag (of 5) is a different dye lot, and skeins may vary from bag to bag. Skeins may vary one from the other even within the same bag. To ensure random color distribution, work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball.
When Malabrigo dyes their yarns, the same formula is used each time but every batch of yarn may vary. The differences from one dye lot to another can be very subtle, or extremely noticeable, specially on variegated yarns.
